The Amazing Status Of A Muslim Women

The amazing status of a muslim women
Spread the love

The status of a Muslim women in Islam is far superior than any other women.

Women in Islam are referred to as DIAMONDS”, because diamonds are precious. You cannot go out showing off your diamonds to every person on the streets.

Before Islam, women used to be treated like animals, in fact they were part of the inheritance. If her husband died during that time, then her son would own her like the rest of the inherited items.

Many people think Islam does not honour Muslim women, but it tortures them instead. They couldn’t be more wrong. Allah Ta’ala dedicated an entire chapter for women in the Qur’an.  It is called SURAT UN-NISA’.

Hazrat Maryam/ virgin Marry (May Allah be pleased with her) was a virgin that gave birth to Hazrat Isa ( May peace and blessings be upon him). she swept and cleaned the masjid day and night, she submitted herself to ALLAH and he awarded her by naming an entire chapter after her, which is known as ”SURAH MARYAM”

When the prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be upon him) was granted prophet-hood, women were given a very high and unique status in Islam.

The prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said;

THE BEST OF YOU ARE THOSE WHO ARE BEST TO THEIR WOMAN
TIRMIDHI 1162

We have in the fold of Islam countless brave Muslim women, women that made a change. Women that showed examples and executed them.

Women that made being a woman amazing. Islam does not shun women, In fact it elevates them. They did so much more than what the eye might see.

Mother’s Lap, is a place where you can receive love, care, affection, protection and peace.

A mother’s lap is the first class any of us attended and they are the first teachers, they taught the companions of the prophet ( May peace and blessing be upon him) to follow what’s right and so they did.

Hazrat khansa (radhiallahu anha/ may Allah be pleased with her) accepted Islam while in Madina along with some of her family members.

Ibne Athir wrote about her saying:

“ALL MASTERS OF LITERATURE ARE UNANIMOUS IN DECLARING HADHRAT KHANSA( MAY ALLAH BE PLEASED WITH HER) AS THE BEST WOMAN POET IN ARABIC. NO WOMAN IN HISTORY HAS EVER WRITTEN SUCH POETRY AS HADHRAT KHANSA ( MAY ALLAH BE PLEASED WITH HER).”

During the time of Hadhrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) in the year 16 A.H. There was a battle that took place between the Muslims and Persians, it was called the:

          "BATTLE OF QUDISIYYAH"

Hadhrat Khansa (May Allah be pleased with her) took part in this battle along with her four sons. On the eve of the battle, she strongly encouraged her four sons saying:

“OH MY SONS! YOU EMBRACED ISLAM AND EMIGRATED OF YOUR OWN FREE WILL. BY ALLAH BESIDES WHOM THERE IS NO GOD, YOU ALL ARE THE SONS OF THE SAME FATHER, JUST AS YOU ARE THE SONS OF THE SAME MOTHER. I NEVER BETRAYED YOUR FATHER, NOR DEFAMED YOUR MATERNAL UNCLE. I NEVER ALLOWED A BLOT TO COME ON YOUR HIGH BIRTH NOR POLLUTED YOUR PEDIGREE. YOU KNOW WHAT REWARDS ALLAH HAS PROMISED THOSE WHO FIGHT AGAINST THE DISBELIEVERS IN HIS PATH. YOU MUST REMEMBER THAT THE EVERLASTING LIFE OF THE HEREAFTER IS FAR BETTER THAN THE TRANSITORY LIFE OF THIS WORLD. ALLAH HAS SAID IN HIS HOLY BOOK:

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

O ye who believe! Persevere in patience and constancy; vie in such perseverance; strengthen each other; and fear Allah; that ye may prosper.

َ

Surah Al-e- Imran verse 200

WHEN YOU GET UP UN THE MORNING, BE PREPARED  TO CONTRIBUTE YOUR BEST IN THE BATTLE. GO AHEAD INTO THE ENEMY LINES, SEEKING HELP FROM ALLAH. WHEN YOU SEE THE FLAMES OF WAR RISING HIGH, GET RIGHT INTO THE CENTRE AND FACE THE ENEMY CHIEFS. INSHA ALLAH YOU WILL GET YOUR ABODE IN PARADISE WITH HONOUR AND SUCCESS.”

Next day when the battle was in full swing, all the four sons advanced towards  the enemy lines. One by one, they attacked the enemy. Reciting the words of their mother in verses, while they fought till all of them were martyred. When the mother got the news, she said:

“ALHAMDULILLAH. GLORY TO ALLAH WHO HAS HONOURED ME WITH THEIR MARTYRDOM. I HOPE THAT ALLAH WILL UNITE ME WITH THEM UNDER THE SHADE OF HIS MERCY.”

Here is a mother of that time, encouraged her sons to jump into the flames of battle. When all her sons were martyred she glorifies Allah in gratitude for honouring her children with martyrdom.

In the above mentioned story we see courage, we see bravery. She knew deep down that; that might be the last time she would talk to her sons while life still breathes in them and yet she wasn’t hesitant in doing the right thing. How many of us would do what she did?

A few achievements of our historical Muslims:

The Muslim women of history earned that status not only because they were woman but because they placed the effort to spread our religion.

Remember these women as well, there are so many other woman in history who made an effort for Islam as well.

Nowadays we idolise so many different woman, women that did nothing to hold our Islam in honour. We want to be like them because they know how to match their Gucci and Versace. We have forgotten our purpose.

We have taken the blessing of being the first class and first teachers to our children a joke. We prefer to teach them things that will keep them attached to this world so that they can receive more from this world. Now let us ask ourselves what good is this world if it is temporary.

We have reduced the bravery of our children to such an extent that they can’t wear hijab when they are with their friends. We have rendered the diamonds as worthless in the sight of people.

We need to honour this trophy of being a Muslim woman and wear it with pride, don’t be ashamed.

We are so much more than just “WOMEN.” We are “MUSLIM WOMEN.”
